My dad got my stepson a bolt action Ruger 22 for Christmas and after he gets used to shooting it, I would like to put a scope on it. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. TIA Ruger Rimfire

watch out for jealous fathers

Any of the "rimfire" models of Nikon, Redfield, or Burris would be fine

Redfield Revenge 2-7x32
Simmons 22 mag 3-9x32
Bushnell Banner 3-9x40
Tasco World Class 3-9x40

Basically go to Wal-mart's website
click on sports & outdoors
type in rifle scopes
Select $50-100
Check off Leupold, Bushnell, Nikon, BSA, Simmons, Tasco, and Burris

Also look around for the Redfield posted above. A 22 is not hard on a scope, so you can cheap it out

Make sure its a rimfire scope with low yardage parallax or get an adjustable parallax scope. Standard scope are set at 100-150 yards and he will never be able to shoot it really accurately with that

On the youngest Yew's bolt action Marlin 25N, we have a Tasco Pronghorn that has not failed him.
