We finished 9-7 and missed the playoffs, we lost the last 3 games of the season when we only needed to win just one. Buccaneers go on to win the Super Bowl even though we beat them twice.

It certainly has that feel

But I mean if they can't win a home game vs Tampa to get in then obviously they aren't good enough or deserving

while I don't see any kind of playoff run, atleast make it and see

but a 1st round game @ Philly.....Ugh

Just take care of Tampa and worry about the road woes in the playoffs.

I hope this offense gets it's act together. Need to get on a hot streak.

I think it can happen. If the '07 Giants could win it, we can. Just need to step it up big time.

Payton raised the white flag by starting Armstead against division opponent in a critical game on the road. He sees that this team has too many holes to get to the Super Bowl. And if that is not attainable then start preparing for next year. This season is over for the Saints. They have too many needs to be a force in the playoffs and especially on the road. Might as well get a head start on scouting for next year.

Philly has one of the worst home records in the league.

You're an idiot if you think the Head Coach of a 10-5 team is giving up on the season.

Maybe so, but to continue to watch millionaires represent our city so poorly by continuing to demonstrate pure lack of effort on the road is illogical. These coaches and players need the fans to make those big bucks, so keep defending mediocrity and in no time we'll be wearing bags on our heads again. Just look at the lack of urgency in the last two games and throw in the jets and seahawks. They're clueless on the road and we're lucky to win against Tampa, San Fran and Atlanta both times. I'm tired of apologizing for the same poor results. We can't run the ball or refuse to. CSP and Loomis have a lot of work to to do to rebuild this team and I'd just as soon have it start asap, Call me what you like. Fortunately my vocabulary is extensive enough that I don't have to stoop to using profanity. I watched the Carolina game and it was a great effort by the defense but they cannot make a stop at critical times, same story. The offense has regressed so much that Payton has seen enough, his words. I look forward to a tougher team with better overall talent next season. Highest paid coach in the league. One of the highest paid QB's . Sure doesn't look like it on the field.

While I agree with you said, it's only a very small part of it. I do think Paytin is moving on with Armstead as a look to the future, but I think it's more immediate. I don't think he was giving up on anythjng, actually I think he had some foresite. If he had to make this move he did it sooner rather than later. He saw Brown wasn't the answer and wouldn't you rather him do this now instead of the middle of a playoff game? If Armstead is gonna be the guy there, give him a few regular season starts to give him a chance before it's win or go home

Aaron Brooks such a talented QB.

He just couldnt overcome his poor decision making.

Not saying he should have great.

But I think he could/should have had a career similar to Jake Delhomme (couple playoff appearances, playoff wins, etc)

I don't get that feeling at all.

before the season started I felt like we'd finish 11-5/10-6.

it seemed like that was the consensus on this board. If someone feels like looking up a predictions thread, that would be great.

all you can ask for in the NFL these days is to just a have a shot (get in the playoffs).

look at the last 3 years, a wildcard team caught lightning in a bottle and went on to win it all.

I'm not saying that the Saints will do that but I'd sure as hell like to see them get their chance.

The Saints beat the frick out of Carolina at the Dome and then barely lost to them on the road in tough elements. To me the Saints are the better team... the only teams I think that would beat the Saints in the playoffs (NFC) are the Seahawks, 49ers, and MAYBE the Eagles.

if we get another shot at Carolina, there is no doubt in my mind we win that game. I don't give a shite where the game is played at.
