Just got an email on this; I didn't know those emos still were around. I predict a depressing turnout.

They've never put out a bad record really.

Meriwether released their debut full length, Make Your Move, in 2005 on GVE Records and sold over 10,000 copies and played over 300 shows in one year to promote the album. The band signed to Suretone Records in 2006 and the album Make Your Move was re-released in 2007. Then Meriwether proceeded to record their sophomore effort, entitled Sons of Our Fathers, with Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Three Days Grace, etc.) and mixed by the similarly lauded Chris Lord-Alge (Underoath, AFI, etc.). After the album was finished the released date was set back numerous times until finally it was announced that Meriwether was no longer with Suretone. The album is currently available for download on a site known as Bandcamp
Wow. Didn't know all of that. So did they get fricked over or did the screw it up themselves?

They worked their asses off but kept getting the short end of the stick. Some of the guys started having other interests, families, etc. Good guys who became a casualty of the industry.

That sucks. I'm jamming to some Aye Julien and New Orleans, RIP right now
Pretty cool they have the whole CD available to download for whatever you want to pay. I'll throw them some $$$

they signed a 5 album deal and got shelved by suretone so that they couldn't go to a competitor label and put it out with them.
happens more than you think with bands.
