I like him running the bench lineups, but he seems to play really well with Holiday. There were a few times they were on the court together and seemed to play very well off of each other. I like the combo. Thoughts?

I see the only way that happens is if Gordon is traded. Other then that, he will stay where he is. He def could be a starter though.

I don't see why not. Gordon could just take all of the shots for the second unit.

I would really like to see Reke and Ryno get a chance to start with Jrue, AFA, and AD. Let EG coming off the bench firing.

What about Jrue, Reke, Ryno, Davis, and Ajinca? Is that too crazy? Ryno would probably struggle even more on D..

But it would definitely be a tall lineup

Absofrickinglutely he could, and I think should be a starter. I like him better than Gordon at the 2 anyway. Not that it will happen though.

No, he couldn't. At least not with Aminu still in the lineup. Jrue would be the only shooter on the floor.

I think it's time to accept that Evans is probably more of a PG and a bad fit on this team. He can run the 2nd team and play some off the ball, but he can't shoot and he's not an explosive scorer (like most SGs). Sure he is a bull and strong enough to play SF, but that's just not his game. I hate to think the team is investing 10M a year to try and re-invent a guy..

Yes, but he won't as long as Gordon is healthy and on the roster.

He's not a PG. He's a driver that can finish at the rim. That's not a bad fit on any team, that's exactly what you want in a 6th man.

Follow-up question-

What could we get in trade for Gordon if we were looking to move him to open up minutes at the 2 for Evans?

Could we actually get a piece we need, such as some depth at the 2 and 3? Or would we be doing a pure salary dump at this point?

There's no need to dump salary at this point. If we move Gordon before the deadline, it will be to upgrade another position.

When is the trade deadline? Too lazy to look up.

Late February IIRC, around the 20th.

Don't need to dump the salary unless you are getting something else to replace him.

We need upgrades at the 3 & 5.

If you trade Gordon, my guess would be that it is to get a starter at one of those positions and let Reke start rotate with Rivers at the 2.

Jrue
Reke/Rivers
AFA
Davis/Ryno
(Traded for player)

6th man really is the ideal role for Tyreke. Gyno has brought up the idea of going after Sefalosha in FA. OKC won't have the money to keep him. He'd be a pretty good fit as a 3 and D role playing "starter" if we dump Gordon.

Yes. But he needs touches to get into his nightly rhythm. As a starter, he wouldn't get the touches to where he could garner a full head of steam for each game. Everyone defers to him as the creator on the second unit and I think it helps him get into the flow of the game.
