not sure where this kid will end up but wanted to draw some attention to him. He plays at Brusly where he seems to be flying under the radar due exposure issues from his coaches or god knows what.

I used to always ask my doctor if I could play football and his answer was always the same. 'Let's do the test and scans and see if things have changed.' Well, it was the same answer all the time. "As I got a little older I started to do some research on guys that played football with one kidney and I learned that Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie also has one kidney. It kind of inspired me. He became an inspiration."

It's easy to see why the game means so much to Hammond. His patience and diligence paid off. It also created a sense of need you just don't see in very many prospects. Now college coaches are noticing the prospect's skill and he's seen an uptick in his recruitment

"I really love this game," Hammond said. "Whenever you want something so bad and you can't have it, once you get it, you just want to keep it and never let go. I just want to keep playing the game and let nothing take it from me.

"I've been hearing from Ole Miss, from ULL, Arkansas, Mizzou, Alabama, Florida and even Cincinnati sent me some letters," Hammond said. "I would still like to hear from Florida State, Clemson, Louisville and Texas A&M because my cousin Darian Claiborne plays there."
