Well, that A&M defense was awesome.

Good to know we won't have a problem with Boise St's defense.

He was a good coach and a great recruiter. We will miss him.

Our secondary played fine this season. We just couldn't stop the run all year. This loss will hurt

All about who replaces him. Yates is a good recruiter but not one of our Top 3. The lack of development in our secondary outside of Harris (who was already very talented) makes me not feel too worried about this. Raven, Matthews, Everett all seemed to regress this year.

Considering what A&M was paying him and is able to pay I feel confident we will get an equal hire or an upgrade.

I will say it, I would love Duane Akina.

that tends to happen when your D line can't ever get any pressure on opposing QBs or stop the run.

There is certainly truth to that but that isn't the entire reason those guys regressed. Raven and Matthews looked lost out there quite a bit. Everett didn't handle going back and forth from CB to Safety well. I don't blame all of that on Yates but it doesn't make me feel like we are losing something critical either. I want coaches that find solutions not excuses.
