What happened to him after all the Prior crap? And why wouldn't he be offered another shot?

Like, seriously gone. He has a show cause. Any school that hired him would have to jump through flaming hoops with the NCAA if they tried to do so before the show cause expires.

He could.

One of the misconceptions of a show cause is that a coach "can't" be hired while it's in effect. That isn't true.

The sanctions against him would be in effect at whichever school he tries to go to until it expires unless the school can "show cause" that they shouldn't, thus the name.

He's in line to be president at Akron. He's pursuing academia now. Plus, he's got a show cause until 2016.

He could be hired, although would be problematic.

He would also be suspended for the first 5 games of season and any post-season games.

Jim Tressel will be back eventually. He'll take a lesser job for a year, give them a ton of publicity, he'll turn them around then leave for a big boy job.

They wouldn't. That's why a show cause is, effectively, a blackball.

The Tattoo Artists would be ecstatic in the town where he's hired.

Am I the only one that thinks that's too harsh a penalty?
