LF seems like an awesome dude, I really hope he winds up at LSU

Is LF 17-18 or 24-25. He looks like a freak of nature for that young a kid.

Pretty cool. I remember watching that 30 for 30 on Dupree and thinking how crazy his recruitment process was. Dupree was definitely a beast.

"Leonard, do you ever get sick of all the shite you get from LSU fans?"

You have no idea. Many casual college football fans knew all about Marcus Dupree 33 years ago while still in high school.....long before there was any such thing as Rivals, recruiting services, ratings or the Internet. Back then, on a nationwide basis you only heard about a handful of the most highly sought after recruits. Dupree was an absolute legend and every bit as good as they hoped he would be at the next level.

I just sat and watched that whole 30 for 30. Barry Switzer handled that situation like an idiot. Also that reverend-handler-agent situation sucks man. That's just too bad

reverend-handler-agent thing? Are you talking about Cam?
Im from Hattiesburg where the reverend/handler/agent is from and the Dupree situation is one of a long line of crooked things that guy is involved in. Both of his sons are/were in prison for stuff like money laundering and racketeering. Not sure if those were the actual charges but I remember it basically being stuff a 1920s mob boss would be accused of.

yeah, what a sad story, yet it was kind of inspiring as well..
Just hate to see a kid quit on his talent, his team, his school, and then get hurt.
I mean ok the Coach was tough on him and isn't that what great coaches do? but dang all he talked about was winning the Heisman and after the UT loss he was like "Well, I guess I won't win it so I guess I will just stay home"
He was kind of baby in many ways..
An incredible talent that never reached his potential of "greatness'
It hurts to see that happen because talents like his are so rare...He cheated himself and football fans...
by chance, I watched many Kevin Faulk highlights this morning, that guy was great and he was a winner...a true professional!!

quote:You won't get a satisfactory answer to this question here. You might hear that it's his nickname and whatnot, but you won't hear the origin of said nickname or the movement in which in stands. All the "insiders/sources" on this board and I've never seen anyone give a detailed answer, just a bunch of smartass bs. However, LF started it so we as LSU fans...

I was at just about every New Orleans Breaker practice and Marcus was a specimen, no doubt about it. He was a nice guy, kinda shy. Ken Fairley was a wolf in sheep's clothing, and derailed a great career.

AKA, you have no clue. It's the kid's nickname, not a fricking civil rights movement.

Be careful, Marcus is a big Alabama fan. His son played there. Last time I saw him at Wal Mart he was wearing a Bama hat. I messed with him about not having a Breakers hat.
