Playlist suggestions for Party

Not a big music guy and having a Holiday party. I could use some suggestions. We are all in our mid 30's and still drink like we are in college so it will be pretty up beat. There will be about 50 people. A friend of mine who use to DJ in college still dabbles around and is handling the late night stuff. Looking for some suggestions for the first few hours.

Kind of upbeat. Want to put everyone in drinking/party mood. Will also have a bartender making specialty cocktails so that will help as well.

My brother is a big music guy and I mostly borrow his CD's (yea he still buys them instead of downloading) As a result, I mostly listen to bands like Bright Eyes, National, Florence and the Machine, Metric, Decemberists etc. In other words, not stuff you really hear at parties. Not bad for background music when a few people are over, but nothing like party music for a fun cocktail party.

Post your email, I can send you a recent playlist of songs from a DJ here in Houston who DJs at a local sushi bar. It may be just what you need...upbeat music that's not too "clubby", just keeps a good mood while drinking.
