If Ed Paris would of stayed uncommited and some big schools on his coattail would he still be a 5star?

Maybe. I'm tempted to say "who cares," etc. etc., but everyone likes seeing a long list of 5 stars -- and that includes other recruits. Recruiting is, in many ways, a self-fulfilling prophecy. I'd love that Alabama Bump...but that won't change anytime soon.

I have to think that some of his reason for dropping is the fact that he is so set on playing CB in college. He was ranked as a S, where everyone thinks he fits best, including myself. He does not grade out as high as a CB, but he will be a hell of a S once he gets to campus and realizes thats where he belongs.

WTF is this??

Why is everyone so convoked Ed will play safety? height?

he is 1 inch taller than Tony Brown and Jamal Adams (who will play safety with Battle and Voorhies) that classifies him as a safety. 1 INCH TALLER.

I've read on here more than a few times that Paris doesn't care what position he plays.

The last interview Paris did with Jimmy Smith he said Miles told him he will start at CB. But Paris also said it didnt matter.

That was the trip w/ Jamal Adams

Because we're desperate for elite safeties right now since we can't lock our own blue chip ones down in the state past few years.

Its been said that he has the ball instincts and is physical enough to be an elite safety. He does not turn and run or have the footwork to be considered an ELITE CB, which is what a 5* is. I'm just saying 5* S prospect, but 4* CB prospect. He has everything you want in a safety but is lacking in a few areas key to being considered a 5* CB.

Edit: Many people have also said that he is already north of 200 lbs and will play around 215-220 in college. Considering he's no PP7 and running a low 4.4 at that size he wont be playing corner if he gets as big as most people seem to think.

Unless he said something different recently, he's mentioned playing safety, then quickly came back te next day and said that coch would have him at CB.

He's got a big frame and can carry a lot more weight. Corner is more about the hips, anyway - if he's got the hips, he can play corner a little bigger - Tharold Simon was 6'2", 202 pounds - definitely "safety" size - PP7 was 6'1 (and 219 pounds), or 1/2" taller and 6 pounds heavier than Laron Landry (of course, Landry, big as he was, ran a 4.35 40 at the combine as well - a single hundredth of a second slower than Peterson - fair to say they were both physical freaks).
