There is a lot of high quality QB talent departing for the NFL this year

Georgia, LSU, Bama, and TAMU will all be looking to replace big time QBs. I think it's really a fluke that there were so many great QBs all playing in their prime at the same time in the SEC this season.

Was this year an aberration?

All the experience on most offenses is leaving, a lot of defenses return experience.

Yeah it'll be more elite defenses again, but the defenses were still solid this year.

An aberration? No, it will take a step back just a little but what you saw this year is where things are going

What games were you watching on Saturday's?

The defenses in the SEC were poor this year compared to recent history.

Alabama had their worst defense since 2007, LSU fielded its worse since 2008, Florida took a giant step back, Georgia continues to underperform.

Bama still had a pretty solid defense down the stretch though

They didn't give up a lot of points at least

Our defense was plagued by an abysmal offense that couldn't keep them off the field. Florida is a good example of a talented defense that suffered from major offensive woes.

Without looking at everyone's rosters, seems there was a lot of youth/inexperience on the defensive side of the ball as well this season for a lot of team. Especially in secondaries. I suspect it'll get better.

there were some good QBs, but LSU, Georgia, and tan had horrendous defenses. worst I've seen from LSU in some time.

I'd give it more towards just bad defense this year rather than good offense

Bo Wallace will be the most experienced QB in the league.

Let that sink in for a second or two.

We would've had a better year if we just played only defense and punted on first downs.
