Certainly UM and Dantonio would be prime targets if Saban actually did leave.

Seriously. This is the kind of thing that makes me wonder how detached from reality some bama fans can be.

Nope

Dantonio is 57 and has health issues. Urban Meyer is not going anywhere. Would be a lateral move to a harder conference with even more unrealistic fans (we know he can't handle that).

I don't want Urban. I want Jimbo but that ain't happening. I don't want smart but that probably will happen. I'm in a glass case of emotion

UM doesn't want anything to do with the SEC. Remember he was about to die and had to quit coaching and all of the sudden he is back

Why not.

When we were mentioning him last year it got around that the only job he'd leave fsu for was bama.

Dantonio would be awesome anywhere. If Les leaves in the year or two he'd be my top choice at LSU. He is a Saban protégé, wins with defense and his teams are just tough. However, he signed a contract recently naming him "Spartan for life". He doesn't strike me as the type that would bolt just for money.

This. Dumb suggestion and frankly, do not want.

Hmmmm... I can definitely see that as he would be a great fit scheme wise. On the other hand, he has had some heart issues which makes me wonder if he can take the stress of the Alabama job.

Coming off a title win? I just don't see him bailing on FSU like that.

Dantonio is very unlikely to move. He has health problems and is in a great situation at Michigan State with low pressure. I'd be really shocked if he moved to the Bama meatgrinder.

UM isn't going to leave OSU either after 2 years and OSU will match whatever Bama can pay.

Bama may be in a real pickle replacing Saban. Nobody wants to be the next Bill Curry and whomever replaces Saban will be lucky to last 3 years due to unrealistic expectations. I just don't see a lot of top tier coaches wanting to jump in to that no matter how appealing Bama and the talent on hand would be.

Came pretty close to going to AU so I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility. Timing is the problem.

That's my first instinct as well but then again what better time to leave? Alabama would pay him an absurd amount of money and he does have ties to the State of Alabama. He was willing to take the UAB job before getting the FSU job so he obviously has a fondness for the area.

P.S. I think he'd get over the whole BOT holding up his UAB offer. That worked out well for him and I'm sure he could get over it if the Bama job was an option.

I honestly can't see Bama hiring a black head coach.

I know thats terrible, but I believe that.
