Looks like an add on to the NCIS franchise is coming to New Orleans...

Casting Speculation on Yahoo
Hopefully they get beyond the stereotypical cliche yat/cajun casting ala "The Big Easy"... it really shouldn't as most military people stationed are rarely from New Orleans...

Character set up with suggestions per yahoo...
quote:

Agent Pride: A 50-something "charismatic and full of life" male who is "stubborn" and "no-nonsense" is the lead of the show, so he'll have to stack up to Harmon's Gibbs. We can see Benjamin Bratt, Titus Welliver, or Dylan McDermott as the tough guy in charge.

Agent LaSalle: This "sexy," "devilish," "sweet and raw" 30-something male is Louisiana born and bred. They need a hottie in this role, so how about Ben McKenzie ("Southland"), Mike Colter ("The Good Wife"), or Shane West ("Nikita")? We also like wild-card idea Enver Gjokaj, who recently guest starred on "The Walking Dead."

Agent Brody: This brilliant female in her 30s boasts a "Grace Kelly-like" demeanor along with an "Ivy League mind," and is "unpredictable, passionate, dedicated." A wide range of actresses could fit this mold, including Maggie Q ("Nikita"), Anna Torv ("Fringe"), or Autumn Reeser ("Last Resort").

Dr. Wade: The "outspoken" 40-something female medic of the team is "full of contradictions" — beautiful, "eccentric," and a lover of college football. We immediately thought of Carrie-Anne Moss ("Vegas"), Jennifer Beals ("The L Word"), and Molly Parker ("Deadwood").

Yay...more annoying fake New Orleans/Cajun accents.

I agree...

The only thing that came close to meeting the original for a franchise series is CSI Miami. Even that I've only watched in syndication but I would watch CSI Miami rerun over the current original CSI. David Caruso is a legit leading man though.

I've never watched a full episode of NCIS Los Angeles. The characters/ casting never clicked for me and got bored very quickly. I suspect more of the same with NCIS New Orleans.

The few times I've seen one of the CSI's I've found myself pulling for the bad guys. The characters are smirking douchebags.

We can see Benjamin Bratt, Titus Welliver, or Dylan McDermott as the tough guy in charge. At least Dylan McDermott has some experience doing a Louisiana accent, albeit a bad one.

We also like wild-card idea Enver Gjokaj, who recently guest starred on "The Walking Dead." I have a feeling that they will cast a black actor in this role.

Anna Torv.....yes please!

We immediately thought of Carrie-Anne Moss ("Vegas"), Jennifer Beals ("The L Word"), and Molly Parker ("Deadwood"). I think that Jennifer Beals would be a great choice.

Hopefully, this will do as good as NCIS: Red.
