Guy playing to go to the Championship in a league where the winner gets ~$1500 started Reggie Bush. His only other RB option was Ryan Matthews, who score 22 points. Now he is tied going into the MNF game an the other guy has A Jeffrey.
How do people not check their shite with this much on the line this late in the season??

Baffles me too but some take it more seriously than others.

Reggie got hurt in pregame warmups. He was supposed to play right up until that happened.

I found out he wasnt going at like 11am, so no it wasnt 15 minutes before.

bush was started in both my leagues by people who do adjust lineups... bush was a late scratch. maybe they didnt see pregame, maybe slept in, maybe went to church

There's really no point in checking until about 11:50 so I don't get the logic here. Too many last minute decisions made anyway.

Especially when you are playing for a chance at the title.

20 man league, $100/team + Transaction money + We bid on draft slots. It gets up there.

I checked on Bush at 11:20am on ESPN and Fantasy Football Now. Both said he was good to go. Got sidetracked doing something and next thing I know it was 12pm. As someone who generally checks all the time, of course the one time I don't check at 11:55 something happens.

Bush's re-injury wasn't known until 7 mins before KO. At least it was breaking news on Fox until 11:53.
I barely switched him out for Bell in one league.

Official status of Reggie Bush is questionable. Re-injured calf in pre-game.
This was tweeted at 11:14 AM. I show this one, which was about the 4th in the line of tweets I saw because it is AFTER 11AM so no one can argue that tweets I saw at 10:54AM were Eastern time.

I checked at 11 and he was playing.
I checked again at 11:50 and it was then I learned of his re-injury.

Be forewarned: Lions RB Reggie Bush slipped in pre-game warmups after he was supposed to be active. Now uncertain if he will play.

We do 12 man league, $125 team. We also bid on FA's starting at $5 and it can get high. Sitting at $580 in FA bidding right now
Points winner gets $100, 3rd and 4th get $50 each and then 1st gets 75% remaining, 2nd 25%.
So it's usually about $1500 to winner. I already won the high points and had a BYE this week. Hoping Manning takes me to the promised land. I won last year so back to back would be sweet
Eta: To the OP, you need to get owners like that out of the league. Give them a warning. As far Bush, that one is somewhat understandable. I wouldn't have made that mistake, but it was late notice.

That's still pretty short notice. A lot of people are at church, or have families, and aren't glued to their couch with Mountain Dew and Doritos. We usually try to shoot out a text to the owner letting him know he needs to text the commissioner that he wants to stick Y player in for injured X.

Yeah. I failed to check Schefter on twitter.

We basically do 2 ten man leagues that are the AFC and the NFC and manually score the playoffs starting in week 13. Super Bowl (AFC vs NFC champs) is week 16.

For $1500 id gladly take 5 minutes away from whatever else is going on at 11:45 to make sure Im giving myself a shot to win.
