ESPN's Marc Stein reports that the Kings will be "trying to find a new home for forward Jason Thompson" following Sunday's trade for Rudy Gay.

I'm not really sure what the Kings are looking for in return, but we need some front court help with AD out.

ETA: Just saw his salary...no thanks.

He's a lot like Jason Smith. Still not really a true starting center and will struggle like Smith has if you ask him to do too much. Is another Smith better than Amundson? Sure. But that doesn't come close to solving this team's problems.

He helped me win a championship last year. At least he plays closer to the rim than Smith.

Have you seen his salary? It escalates over the next 4 years up to almost $7 million. He really is a lot like Jason Smith. Maybe he plays a little closer to the rim, but he's a tweener 4/5 that's fine as a bench big but if he's starting it means you're a bad team.

Jason Smith + Aaron Gray/Greg Stiemsma > Jason Thompson.
