Naive recruiting question for the gurus:

Can anyone comment on the idea that a coach might give attention to one high profile recruit in order to put pressure on another high priority kid to make a decision?

I thought Cook contacted LSU, not the other way around?

Anyways I think if staffs recruit an athlete it should be sincere. I don't think Les Miles would resort to recruiting someone in order to get another target to commit. These are peoples' lives we're talking about here.

The name of the game is get the guys that you want. Recruiting another player at the same position is playing good poker sometimes. You cant be a pushover, the following year's recruits are paying attention as well.
It works both ways. Kids screw with schools too.
