Cruising 55 north. Headed to north west missouri for a week of bow hunting. Hope these cold temps have the big boys moving. Wish us luck!

I did the same thing this very time of year 7 seasons ago. I have never been that cold before that trip or after. There was 9" of snow on the ground and the temps never got above a single degree the five days we were there. The wind blew like a bus load of figs and I was the only one that killed a deer that trip. The guide told us that December was brutal for how hunting because the rut was over and the big boys were bedded up.

I hope you have much better luck than we did. Please update this thread through your week. Be careful and enjoy yourself.

I am a few hours away on the Illinois/ Indiana state line. We got about 8-12 inches of snow since Thursday. Went out to the hunting area yesterday afternoon and there were tracks everywhere from the moving around. Hoping to take down one of the 8 points tomorrow that has been showing up on the cams.

Just got done checking out our farms. Lots of fresh tracks in the snow. Looking good so far.

Hunted Montgomery County Missouri during gun season and didn't see a thing. No one in our camp shot anything (out of 10 hunters). I hope you have better luck than we did!

We go with an outfitter up here. This is my 3rd trip. It's a semi guided hunt but we always have a blast. Have had good luck the past two trips. Hoping for the same.
