Is True Detective primed to be the next great HBO series?

Premiers January 12, 2014.
Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey as the leads for the first 8 episode season.
Set in Louisiana as they chase down a serial killer.
I'm all in this bitch.

I'm sure if it's gets really popular and they like working together they will. They just need to film in short amount of time so they can go do movies and stuff

I worked on this one and this is one of two things I have worked on that I am actually excited for friends as family to watch. Everything we shot made me excited to see the final product.

I just cancelled my subscription to HBO. I didn't feel like we were watching it enough to pay the extra $15 a month.
Now I'm seriously contemplating getting it back just to watch this show.

Guy who wrote it is from Lake Charles, but born in New Orleans. Should be pretty authentic.
Also, there is a clip from a tent revival where Eli from BWE is the preacher that gave me chills.
Can't wait for this series!

He said he decided to do it after reading the script and seeing how good it was. Pizzolatto is getting some seriously high praise right now.
Also, T Bone supervised the music. Looking forward to this.
