What do you think the odds are of us moving these guys?:
Aminu (expiring contract this year)
Gordon (player option following next season)
Evans (contract expires in 2017)
Holiday (same contract as Evans)

While I love Tyreke, why the F did we pay that man 40M in 4 years to be our SEVENTH man? We are dying for a center and small forward...
We have to keep Anderson and Davis at this point imo.

We aren't trading holiday or evans. We might trade Aminu, whatever that gets us. We could trade Gordon, however teams are reluctant to take on his contract with his injury problems.

Why not trade Evans or Holiday? I know they just arrived, but lets be honest, neither player is essential to this team's success at this point. The lack of 3&5 is obviously hurting us more than depth at 1&2 are helping.

Look around the league. EVERY "good" team has an above average SF. The 3 is usually the go-to guy late in games due to versatility. We need one, badly.

Agreed.

Aminu

For the defense and rebounding he brings, his contract is appropriate and is a nice piece to throw in a trade if they decide to go that way.

Evans is the wild card.

They have attractive pieces to move if the right deal comes along.

I still think they will evaluate the roster as it is constructed now and decide what direction to go in next year based on that.

But I'm just some dude sitting on a couch so what do I know?

ETA: I don't think they should make a trade just for the sake of making a trade.

For sure don't trade just to do it. But if Houston ever decides to take a cap hit and move Asik, wouldn't he be a great fit here? I think we'd be fine without Evans honestly.

Yes, I know he's a horrible ft shooter.

Eric Gordon trade is coming if he's healthy at deadline and we've fallen off the pack. However, if we are still in it I doubt they make any moves- no matter how many hypothetical trade threads i post.

I think so, but I wouldn't do it if it involved Anderson.

Thankfully, another person who knows what's up.

Correct. If AD isn't injured, we win last night. Hell, if we hit a couple of shots, we win last night. They are NOT going to dump Tyreke or Holiday this soon. Regardless of the money, they're both starting to show why they were signed in the first place.

I just wish there a little a more patience around here. I know that it's frustrating to watch them sometimes though.

All the key guys are 25 or younger. All under contract for another couple of years. The core is nice.

Could the depth be better? Yes.

Are there holes at SF/C? Yes.

But this team won 48 games the last 2 years combined. I didn't and don't expect them to become a powerhouse with such a young roster over night.

It's going to take a little time.

Holiday and Evans = 0%
Gordon = 75% or higher.
Aminu = meh, maybe as part of a larger deal.

I see Gordon as probably the third to fourth go to guy behind AD, Anderson, and Jrue.

He should probably be traded. I don't think we will have to dump him, but we wont get super value for him. Maybe we can trade him to reallocate a little more talent in the front court.

The only guy I want to get rid of is Gordon.. and I wanted to keep him throughout all the drama and injuries.

His salary can be better used elsewhere, we obviously need depth and talent at other spots

For real, you mother fackers think this team should be 15-3 or something?

Sure they have the talent, but they need to LEARN TO PLAY TOGETHER. 18 games isn't a sufficient sample size. A full season is an adequate time to let them play together and become a cohesive unit. I don't want to read any "tanking talk" either. Let this team grow, fight for a playoff spot and hopefully make the playoffs. They need that experience and even if they went one and done in the playoffs, that is a move in the positive direction for the franchise. That will be a successful season for a first year team with their core in place. Make the necessary upgrades in the next offseason ( In Dell I Trust ) and then……

Championship bitches.

Eh, moving someone mid-season isn't exactly a sign of impatience. Sometimes it makes the most sense because you'll maximize your return. A guy like Gordon might command more assets from a contending team at the trade deadline than he would in the offseason.

You can't trade Holiday or Evans because we must acquired them. What would it say about the pelican's credibility that after just signing a player to a big contract we trade him. Free agents won't want to come to New Orleans if they think they might be traded within a year of starting for the team.

There are no 3's or 5's worth a shite that a contender is willing to give up for a risky 2.

Have you not seen how much more smoothly the offense runs with holiday? The guy isn't going anywhere. He's conditioned to the point where he shouldn't get injured.
