just curious, how involved is he, if at all? I know the guy is busy and wouldnt fault him, but does he make appeareances during big recruiting weekends/calls, etc.,- if possible?

All these recruits adore the guy.

I'll hang up and listen.

He really can't be involved; i.e. he cannot recruit/make calls for us. And it's hard to visit when you play on Sundays.

Remember when Bush contacted Mcknight or at least the rumors that he did? that was a violation.

It would be a recruiting violation I think.

Now Shaq is a different story.

he's huge for recruiting, every time he makes a big play on national TV or when he becomes the highest paid defensive player ever in a few months... recruits notice

it's against the rules for him to directly talk to recruits though.

He is super involved, you know getting shoes in the hall of fame, making ints in the nfl, repping LSU on Sundays.....typical stuff

Rashard Robinson was at his camp last summer I believe. Not really direct recruiting, but I'm sure that left a huge impact.

Yea we all know that happened. Was funny to watch JT try to cover for him immediately.

Wasn't Ingram spotted at someone's game and talking to them?

If they just so happen to be on campus for a game and talk to a recruit, it's not a big deal. If they go out of their way to call or visit a recruit, then there's an issue.

Whenever Shaq is in town for his golf tournament, or other functions, he "coincidentally" shows up at Texas de Brazil for dinner that Friday night.

His positive public comments about Miles and LSU seem like they would be huge. I'd love to hear more of them.

Meanwhile, Bama just outright sends Ingram to LF games.
