The "We lost North LA" mantra is a myth

Anyone who is foolish enough to make such a statement has little to no understanding of college recruiting. Simply put, coaches don't recruit regions, they recruit individuals. Individuals with different personalities, different family support systems, different ideas about their future, etc. 3 young men made personal choices to a join a football team, not "north east Louisiana is bama territory."
The Golden Triangle of Texas is producing 1 stud athlete this year who is a heavy LSU lean, you don't hear the Aggies postulating "Sumlin has lost East Texas."
The number 1 prospect out of Illinois last year went to Ole Miss, the number 1 prospect this year from there is a heavy LSU lean, no one is whining about how those kiddos left B1G county...
In closing, I would like to restate some of my favorite points from the RB:
-Don't get bent out of shape over a safety, we won a MNC with Jack Hunt.
-In all my years of following recruiting, I dont think i could name 1 player from instate who spurned LSU during recruitment that I would want to call a Tiger (McKnight, Janzen J, Shiro Davis, etc).
-If you are not Tiger, then you're Tiger Bait....
