Who has one? Im looking to get one for christmas and wanted to get some input first. Seems like unless you spend decent money on a thermometer it wont be worth a damn. What say you FD board?

Any experience with this one? LINK

ETA: I have heard about ones that connect to your smart phone, the williams sonoma one in the link seems to be overkill.

the maverick et-732 seems to be the most popular, budget friendly wireless ones

you definitely want one with 2 probes if you are using it for BBQ, since you'll be able to monitor external and internal temps

I'm hoping to get that Maverick 732 for Christmas. I hope Santa doesn't forget.

Thats what I got and like it...probably overkill tho. It was a toss up between that one and the Mav...Thermoworks I was able to get when I needed it so it helped push me that way. I have used it with my iPad to keep an eye on the temps...kinda neat.

Very nice deal. Santa is getting mine so I'm not sure if she got it already or what. I've dropped enough hints though. If I don't get one I'll send her out to the smoker to tell me what temp the pit is at from now on.

Let's beat that dead horse and say the ET-732 is what you need. Accurate and reliable up to 100-150 feet or so depending on obstruction.

If you're a gadget geek go with a cyberq wifi and remotely monitor and control the pit from anywhere with a cell signal. Overkill, yes. Overpriced, yes. But I love it anyway. (If you're not a geek don't even google it)
