Some notes after rewatching the game

The offense last night wasn't terrible. They didn't bother setting up their offense off most of Warriors misses, and they got some good looks playing in the flow of the game.
Their half-court sets were lackluster, as usual. I have two main problems with Monty's sets. First, they take too long to run. Rarely do the Pelicans get a good look off the first or second pass of a set. Second and most importantly, too many of them end in mid-range jumpers.
Have to give credit where credit's due. Monty ran a lot of good stuff out of timeouts last night. They got clean looks from three and at the basket coming out the huddle. If only they could incorporate some of that stuff into what they do out on the floor.
I'm willing to say the Evans/Morrow/Roberts trio cost us the game last night. When those three were on the court together, they did absolutely nothing positive. Particularly Morrow. If he's not getting looks, he's wasted space out there.
Didn't focus too much on D on the rewatch, but I did notice one thing. The Warriors burned the Pels three different times on elevator plays coming out of timeouts. IMO, that's inexcusable. Any scouting report could show you they like to go to those.

I could barely watch it the first time.
And Evans did have a few good plays.

I cannot stand how our guards do not pass to AD cutting down the lane, I know it is tight pass but dam your an NBA guard.
Evans needs to be on the floor more and Rivers needs to play.
The offense is lame and Smith should not be getting that many shots. I do not mind that he gets shots and he does well but he seems to be our first option.
I really like Gordon but I was thinking that we should look to trade him for a 3 and move Evans to the 2.

It is the obvious move to make. Either trade Gordon for Rudy Gay or go the other direction and work a deal for Greg Monroe.

say whaaa...Trading in a decent defender/penetrating guard for a jumpshot chucking SF is not exactly what this team needs atm.
