I thought the tradition matters was a huge failure. HOWEVER, I love neck and I hope they continue to play it.
What say you?

I doubt that would make a difference. I bet no one has forgotten the cheers for Tiger Rag.

Personally, I think that they'll just realize the cheers aren't going away. CBS seemed to kill some of the crowd mics during the broadcast.

Back in my day students showed up early, stayed late, never cussed or drank, and gave up their seats for anyone who wanted one. Absolutely horrible what this crop of Obama babies has done to a storied tradition like Neck.

I sat by 3 TAMU fans in the South end zone. We were directly across from the band and student section and they couldn't make out what they were saying. However they did say that the song was cool with the hand movements and it seemed to really get the players pumped. Btw it was a couple in their 40s and a kid that graduated TAMU in 07

My freshman year was 2007. I feel that I, as well as just about most all of my friends, had no idea what Tiger Rag was until this past week when people started talking about it. Never heard of this "Assholes" chant before.

Oh, and STTDB is tradition. To myself and thousands of other LSU Tigers who graced the campus with our presence in these recent years.

That's what it was when I was at LSU. The problem is the need to personalize it by some of these "students".

For Owe-we-Owe, it was "Owe-we-Owe....You suck!"

Tiger Rag was definitely "Assholes", but then again, as bad as that is, it's very different to call someone an a-hole versus telling them to "suck c***" or "suck a tiger d*** B****". Are all of those vulgar? Yes, but there is at least a level that hasn't been reached for the latter two.

"You suck" is the correct answer.

Did it not get banned because at the USCe game they yelled "You suck C**KS!"?

IMO, I'd much rather have Tiger Rag, Neck, Oh We Oh,
Touchdown for LSU, Fight for LSU, Hey Fighting Tigers, 2nd down cheer, Bandits 4th Down Bow,
etc. and have them done and sound like they are supposed to traditionally.

Put the student sections in the upper four corners of the Upper Deck: Seniors in the West Upper on north side, Juniors on the East Upper on north side, Sophomores on the East Upper on the South Side, and split the Freshman bewteen the the West Upper on the South Side and the new South Upper.
Position LSU policeman in each Student Section and toss out and revoke ticket privileges for life to anyone who does the vulgar cheers again.

Sound crazy ????

No more crazy than 18-22 year old adults ruining 120 years of history and tradition and making themselves and their school look trashy because they want to hear each other shriek dick, bitch and a-hole.

it's really awful and awkward having to explain to older people what that can't quite understand what they are saying. I had a 60 yr old+ plus guy ask me last season.
