New way of allocating seats in the student section.....

Why don't they just go to a first come/first serve format where students have to stand in line to get into the stadium on gameday instead of selling tickets prior? It seems like a lot of folks who get the tickets don't go, yet the tickets are sold on a seniority basis. You could just scan student ids and add the costs to a students fee bill. I believe some schools already do this, and this was done for basketball when I was at lsu.

Because for games like bama you would have people camping out the night before.

It's not impossible for Freshmen to get tickets, they just need to all put their names in a lottery.

Student tickets are sold based on priority. You get priority for going to games.
20 for home games and 5 for away
Most freshman usually get at least partial student tickets. I know my freshman year (2008), we all got half the home games. Of course, that was the year after the national title so they were in high demand

The student section is weak and should be reduced. In addition no group tickets should be available. I like your idea of first come/first serve.

Most freshman get all of their tickets like I did, then the ones who don't go, don't get tickets the next year.

When I was there, you showed your ID at the gate and got in.
