They still have to beat OU first.

Even if Oklahoma beats them? If that happens, doesn't Baylor win the Big 12?

Could be Okie St if they lose to Oklahoma, but I'd think the Cotton owl would much prefer an LSU-TX matchup if at all possible.

Cotton would love a Texas-LSU matchup I'm sure. If they end up with Baylor from the Big 12 though, don't be surprised if they take A&M again. Bowls are made for TV events, and JFF's last game will be one of the bigger stories of the bowl season. Add in a high scoring Baylor-A&M shootout and that's probably the matchup they'd take. Frankly, the remainder of the Big 12 season will likely dictate whether it's LSU or A&M in the Cotton, because if Texas winds up there it won't be A&M they're playing.

Why would they want a 4 loss TAM team?

Johnny Football. You really had to ask? Your average college football fan tuning into a bowl game doesn't care, and a lot wouldn't realize, how many losses a given team has. They just want to see superstars, and in this case, JFF's last college football game.

So you disagree with me saying that JFF's last game is going to draw a bigger television rating than LSU's bowl game?

Stop trolling. That's all you've done tonight on the SEC board and now here.

How am I trolling by stating a simple fact? OP asked a question, I answered. JFF turns on TVs, so no, right now LSU hasn't locked up the Cotton Bowl yet.

An opinion I'm sure supported by a vast majority of people, and data from TV ratings this year. A&M's game against Alabama, played in the middle of the afternoon, is the most watched game of the year. All you really need to look at is the bowl selection process last year to see where the pecking order stands. Sure, technically me saying that JFF (especially in what will be his last game) turns on more TVs than LSU is an opinion, but I'm pretty sure you know it's true.
