A couple of things then my list. I included HS seniors LSU supposedly had a crack at. And I'm taking heavily into consideration what the current roster would look like due to returnees.

1) Leonard Fournette (#1 or close to it national prospect/position of need)
2) Clifton Garrett (#1 MLB and position of desperation)
3) Cameron Robinson (#1 or close to it national prospect/LT always a position of need) miracle needed to get him obviously
4) Brandon Harris (shooting up in the ratings and he and Jennings would be it for next year at QB)
5) Tony Brown (one of the best lockdown CBs and only this low because White is at LSU and Robinson is at LSU...normally would be higher)

Anyway, that's my list...once again factoring in the needs of LSU not just who is the best player 1 to 5 that LSU was recruiting and had a shot at

I would agree that GW is more important right now than Tony Brown, but a lot of that depends on how well on Redshirts fill out next year and beyond. OP list is pretty good though.

1. Fournette
2. Garrett
3a. Hootie
3b. Ed Paris
4. GWIII
5. Speedy
..............................................

6. Dupre
7. Quinn
8. Adore'
9. Clapp
10. Brumfield
11. Sione
12. Tony Brown

I ranked Tony so low, because alot like Xavier Carter, he will be an elite athlete, but his future lies on the Track and Field. Kid will be in the olympics.

I like the idea of everyone's opinions on this but at any given point or time in a game or real life, each and every one of these kids are needed for us to win a championship. Hell, the kicker we all scratch our heads over could be the difference in a game in the very near future.

Certainly would be under consideration by me. BTW, obviously WRer is a HUGE position of need if Landry/Beckham go pro. The only reason I didn't include a WRer is that it isn't like they aren't a lot of them out there that LSU has a shot at. Thus, any one particular WRer is not a devastating loss. LSU already has Quinn committed...going after D Williams, S Noil, M Dupre, etc.

The reason I didn't have Willis in there is LSU signed 7 DL last year. I don't doubt Willis' talent at all but when you have umpteen DL signed in the last class, I can't put a crucial priority on any individual DL this year. Of course, my assumption is some of those many players are going to pan out. Most were obviously redshirted. Thanks for your response.

1) Leonard Fournette (#1 no explanation needed)
2) Clifton Garrett (#1 MLB huge position need for the class)
3) Hootie Jones (If we dont land him we open ourselves up to lower tier players we may be forced to take.. safety position is high priority this year)
4) Tony Brown (one of the best lockdown CBs and only this low because White is at LSU and Robinson is at LSU...normally would be higher)
5) GWIII (a beast)

I would like to see more OL action tbh. I think Clapp will be decent but not the stud-type. Just my opinion from having seen him play many times.

Everybody has a right to their opinion but obviously I agree with you. I would suggest that anyone who thinks Brown is more of a track guy than a football guy needs to look at the camp held in Dallas (several minutes video is out there...I've seen it), and the ONLY guy that Brown had trouble covering was M Dupre. They had studs out there too...WR Cannon (don't know if Brown and he were paired up), Keenan Brown was there, C Hardemann and E Paris as DBs etc. That was a stud camp to say the least for WRer/DBs and James Smith for one said that Brown stood out among the CBs.

The best answer. I hate when we have to pick and choose. They are all important in their perspective areas

Uh oh, you just lost out on your offer from Les Miles/Frank Wilson to be a recruiting advisor. IMO, one of the best things in this exercise is you have to make the same decisions the coaching staff has to make. Not only who the best players are we might be able to get but is taking a slightly less talented player better than a real stud if the position needs make up the difference.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to have the #1 LT, but the gap between #1 LT and, say #10 LT is not nearly as significant as #1 RB, WR, DT, MLB, CB, S and #10.

If you're going to 'lose' a guy that highly rated, LT (or any OL) is the place to lose them.

ETA: My Top 5 most important

1- Fournette
2- Clifton Garrett
3- 'Quille
4- Willis
5- Noil

1. Fournette
2. CG
3. Hootie
4. Willis
5. Quille

Major needs: RB (if Hill leaves as expected) MLB, S, DT, and WR (need a big time playmaker on the outside after Landry and Beckham are gone)

after looking at this year performance and the backups that played (ie. we can't have any real confidence at this point in a guy who redshirted).

1. LF - no potential replacement on roster
2. Garrett - see LF
3. Willis
4. Hootie
5. Quille
