This has probably been discussed in the multiple Winston threads/pages but nobody has time to read through all those.

If/when he gets charged/suspended let's say FSU still wins out against it's pathetic schedule but maybe plays a semi close game with Florida and whoever they play in the ACCCG. Do the voters still put them #2 or does an undefeated Baylor or OSU jump them if it becomes clear Winston would not be playing in a Bowl game?

Good football question actually. Not sure how voters would handle it. (Also some might outright punish FSU for this fiasco)

Yeah the scenarios here of how things might play out are mind boggling actually. SO many routes this could go in a hurry...

Hmmmmm, I don't think it would be right to punish a team who's undefeated and a pretty established #2 just because one player messed up.

The computers wouldn't factor it in at all. As for the coaches/media, I think the best path is to not assume, so if he hasn't been suspended yet I'd say they don't factor it in.

The real question is if FSU beats Bama with Winston as QB and a few years from now the NCAA vacates the FSU title will Bama then claim it?

I think voters will certainly vote FSU down in the polls if he were to get charged...

i don't think he gets charged in the next few weeks though, and plays out the regular season and highly likely he plays in the BCSNCG, imo.

I think the voters would jump them in favor of OSU.

My guess is he plays through bowl game because any trial would not come until after season.

If he's out though and since Coker is out as well, I could see voters dropping them behind another undefeated team if there is one.

Ohio St could still lose to Mich St, Baylor could still lose to OSU or Texas.

Also, remember when Tenn played FSU in the first BCS game, the FSU QB was the backup Outzen. Not a guarantee pollsters will penalize them but it could get very interesting if he's suspended.

I think it has to be Auburn v. Ohio State in that scenario.

I think the choice between Baylor and Ohio St. is a TOUGH one.

Good point but that was due to injury which makes it a little different and I don't think there were two other, potentially, undefeated teams sitting right behind them.

I see it now. They still win out to play Bama as is predicted and he is suspended.

However, Florida State gets rolled by about forty points and the excuses start flying.

Even if he were to ultimately be suspended the answer to the question probably depends on when.

It would also matter if only one or both of Baylor and Ohio St are undefeated. Otherwise they probably take BCS points away from each other.

If he were to be suspended before Florida and the ACC CG and Florida St struggles in those games then an undefeated Ohio St or Baylor would likely get enough votes over them to at least make it close.

However, the computers will still be in FSU's favor (heavily in their favor unless Clemson loses).

FSU's best case scenario if he were suspended is that it happens soon enough to beat both Florida and, say, Duke convincingly with a backup QB that plays well. Soon enough that the backup QB at least faces Florida's defense instead of only Duke's would be better.

I think FSU gets in regardless if they win out but it would certainly hurt their chances if they face Alabama in the CG.

FSU will stay #2 if they win out. Don't think it will matter, human vote and computers will cancel each other out most likely

FSU's back-up is a redshirt freshman, 3 star QB from NJ that only received offers from Florida State and Buffalo.

I don't think it will take that long. I think there will be intense pressure on the State Attorney to file charges. If charges are filed then JW must be suspended from the team per FSU guidelines.

He gets suspended immediately upon arrest, so that could be within days. Unless the case gets dropped

If Winston gets suspended, there is no way that FSU should be #2. I know it's not fair to the team, but they aren't remotely close to being the same team without Winston there.
