Did a search and found nothing. Blue is a senior, so this is good news. Not sure it's ground breaking about Neighbors, since he's listed as a junior. Hoping Blue can return to form next year, which would be 2 years after his knee injury.

Blue, Neighbors get 5th year

Running back Alfred Blue joined fullback Connor Neighbors in receiving a fifth-year of eligiblity from the NCAA.

Blue and Neighbors, both in their fourth years with the team, will each be eligible to play another season after this year, LSU spokesman Michael Bonnette said.

The duo received medical redshirts from the NCAA this year.

Blue, Hill’s backup, suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 3 last season.

Neighbors, the backup to starter J.C. Copeland, played in just one game his freshman season before an injury ended his rookie year.

I think Blue accepts it. He has no draft stock that I know of.

Why not come back and be another big man on campus for another year? Plus he does have a dedicated group of fans.

The story didn't say, but did they petition for it themselves or did LSU do it on their behalf? I would think if it was their idea to ask for the additional year that they intend to use it. Just my two cents.

Take it easy. He fumbled against the best defense in college football.

He also got a dead ball 15 yarder the previous year against that same defense that killed a crucial drive in the red zone.

He plays for LSU. We should all be fans. Plus do we really want to go into next season with magee being our only returning rb. This is good for depth. Plus nothing wrong with playing special teams.

Welter is a lock for #18. He'll finally kill that dumb tradition.

Negated a TD pass to the TE if I remember correctly. Two years in a row he shits the bed in the biggest game of the year.
