Started out years ago as a Halo player and we would have tournaments linking our Xboxes together at each others houses. Naturally with internet advances and when COD multiplayer came out for COD4 it became our favorite game and subsequently we have played every COD online since then religously.

I bring this up because I pre-ordered Ghosts and played it for about 6 hours a few nights ago. It is literally the same fricking game as MW1 with different maps. Killstreaks, guns, attachments etc might vary but it is the same gameplay with no wow factor whatsoever. No dynamic maps, still frickheads no scoping everywhere, getting killed a mile away by a shotgun. Same shite!

I told my peeps I wasn't playing anymore and started watching BF4 vids on youtube because of all the hype. I have never played it but really like what I am seeing. (Groundwar on Bog is my all time favorite maych to play)

I am buying it this week and have a few questions.

1) How much different is the gameplay? (Feel, guns, spawns, gametypes, hit detectors)

2) Is there bullshite like quick scoping, no scoping, getting hosted in BF4 like COD?

3) I don't have any friends that play BF4, is there TDM and if so is it still fun or better with a clan? Is there clans on BF4?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

All i have to say is stick with it. Don't get mad your K/D sucks at first when its really more about the team than K/D. The learning curve is much more than COD so its going to take time. Just have fun with it b/c blowing shite up is a blast and the lack of little kids yelling in the mic, camping and quick scoping makes for a much better MP experience.

1) no more just holding down the trigger and killing someone across the map with fully auto fire. Each gun recoils and feels different. Game play is much smoother.

2) no.

3) yes to TDM. There's also domination. You don't need a squad to play those really. Not sure about "clans". Typically just play with the guys from here.

It's not even close to being the same game as CoD. Battlefield is largely made up of large maps, with tons of destructible environments. Spawns in game modes outside of TDM rely on your squad or a base to spawn out of. In TDM, spawns are completely random. Most gametypes in Battlefield are objective based, so focusing on k/d ratio will only make your teammates hate you more.

The weapons are the biggest difference between CoD and Battlefield. Battlefield accounts for distance and bullet drop. So if you are sniping, and a guy is 300 meters away, you will have to figure out how far above his head you need to aim to account for bullet drop. If they are 300 meters away and on the run, you need to again aim above their head, but you also need to fire in front of them to try and get them.

The largest adjustment I think you will have is the vehicles. I don't personally like getting in them, but I do enjoy blowing them the hell up. There's such a satisfying feeling of strapping some C4 to a tank and running away completely unnoticed, only to watch the bottom of your screen fill up with "enemy killed 100" notifications.

I've never had any issues with hit detectors. I've had plenty of times where i've been able to outduel someone with my pistol (sniper class) while they were holding their assault rifle. Sure it's a bit unrealistic to outgun someone holding an AR, but it happens.

I've not seen any sort of glitches like quick scoping in Battlefield. I don't think you quick scope in Battlefield because you can't just put the crosshair on someone and pull the trigger because of the bullet drop.

They do have a TDM game mode, but I don't really play it. It's a good way to rank up your weapons without having to worry about being killed by vehicles and what not. That way you can get the feel of the weapons and then you can go in to the other game modes with the weapon upgrades, and kick arse. You can have a "Clan tag" on your guy at some point in the game, but there are no clan matches or anything like that.

Welcome to the best FPS out there!

1) just fully commit. I was terrible for awhile. I didn't even go into the big matches or maps. I stuck to domi and tdm on BF3 to learn the mechanics.

2) no. hell no. still cheezy arse snipers everywhere. but they have to work to kill you.

3) most nights we will have 5-8 per match from the board. on 360 at least. I'm sure it will be less this week since new hardware is coming out.

we already lost one brother to new console syndrome.
