Seriously - he's known to have a gimpy ankle, the Chiefs have the best rush in NFL and they manage 2 hits, 0 sacks, and 0 knockdowns?

Our backs are better than the Broncos, our line is as good as the Broncos, and our coach is better than the Broncos... why can't we do the same thing for Brees - who BTW is way more mobile and def. as smart as Pey Pey.

How do you think it got that way? He's been getting hit just as much as Brees, just not tonight.

I honestly don't think the Broncos are as good as the best teams in the NFC.

Tonight they are doing well but they are pretty shitty at protecting Payton.

Agreed.. they don't have HALF the running game that we have. it's so frustrating to see Peyton have a clean uniform but see Drew get roughed up on fricking every fricking pass play that we run

They actually average more YPG, about the same YPC, and have way more rushing TDs. And that's with the Saints' stats inflated from that absurd Dallas game

The Saints did a phenomenal job protecting Brees the last two games. Doing so against the Niners is most impressive. The O-line is really coming together.

??? Brees got hit / knocked down a ton today and it was mostly unnecessary if we stick with our (successful) running game.

I swear Payton is so lucky at how durable Brees is b/c half of the hits Drew has taken over his career are due to Payton's playcalling deficiencies and refusal to pound the run.

49ers had one sack and two other QB hits while Brees threw 43 passes. Not even remotely "knocked around" and really had a clean pocket the entire game.

Payton goes down much easier than Brees does. Payton won't fight against the inevitable sack.

Dude, give it a break.

How do you blame playcalling on Drew getting knocked around? What does the playcalling have to do with the OLine not doing their job?

Chiefs didn't have any sacks last week either. They've been cooling off. Saints did a great job today against SF, both in pass protection and in the running game. Seems like our biggest issue was WR's getting open.
