NWST scored 72. In the 2nd half
I don't care who you're playing. 72 points in a half is impressive. Hopefully, they will not continue their hot shooting.

Thanks as always SOS. I see Northwestern hammered Auburn. That is bad for the SEC and therefore for us in terms of what we'll need to get into the dance.
The Demons like to run as usual and that's good for us.
For me the most important thing for us is for Coach Jones to get a feel for his players i.e. who to play when and establishing roles.
I think we saw a bit of that come to the fore with Quarterman inserted in when we cut the lead to 1 at UMASS and having a bit of the brook trout look and having 2 or 3 tough possessions in a row.
While the OOC schedule does us few favors in terms of style points for post season it will allow Johnny to define roles and establish the best rotation to best maximize the talent...and we do have that.
Tigers 98-83.

wasn't that one of your criticisms of Jones last year? his rotations were poor at times?

I thought he did o.k. in that regard for the most part last year given it was his first and given the circumstances.
It's more important this year because there are more pieces in place and more kids who can give significant minutes if used in the right roles and the right times. And I think Coach Jones knows that.
It will be key to get them defined early, because as we're already starting to see, The SEC is struggling again OOC and it does us no favors in establishing a tourney resume.
I think we have a tournament team, but little margin for error due to our OOC schedule and the conference strength.

The way mcconathy runs his rotations is a difference maker too but it takes him years to build enough depth to actually rotate the way he wants to.
Almost like hockey line changes. Dude's smart. good coach. I think this will be a fun game to watch.

I read that he has 4 Snr's and 1 sophomore starting. Which is a huge asset, they'd know where each of them is on the court at all times and all their plays inside out.
Only freshman they have in the line up is coming off the bench.
Whereas we're starting 3 freshmen (when Jarrell's back) a Jnr and Snr.
UMass was pretty much the same. There's no substitute for all that game experience

The thing about that is that NSU rolls in their entire bench throughout the game. It's not uncommon for him to sub out his entire starting 5 at the same time. It takes a while to be able to put a team out there that can reasonably handle that, especially at the level he coaches at.

I always thought MM was a good coach. I was lucky enough to have him as my coach one year during peewee basketball while he was Airline's coach. Had a bunch of 11-12 year olds running a 1-3-1 defense.

I watched the woodley kid in high school, he's the real deal if he can keep his head on straight for NSU

So, this is the impact freshman for the Demons? I'll keep an eye on him tonight.

I gotta be honest, this game makes me feel uncomfortable at best. I'm shocked they played at Auburn last night when they had us next. I guess they knew they could beat Auburn though. We CAN'T get into foul trouble. They are absolutely lights out at the line. Also gotta knock down FT's, can't give away 2-points and go down and let them hit a 3

Jalen west is not a freshman I think he is a redshirt frosh, he played in the game last year against Lsu.The freshman I think they must be talking about is Z.Woodly a guy that I watched play for 4 years and he never stood out when I saw him play above average at best.Iooked at nsu's boxscore and was shocked to see he is averaging about 16pts a game

This really surprised me too. I'd like to see us be able to get guys like Morgan, Hammink, and Malone some time. Really hoping we can create enough of a buffer to let these guys log some minutes.

Yeah I think Woodley missed maybe one shot last night. And Jalen West is small, but he's quick as lighting and can jump out of the gym. LSU will need to be on its A game.

Won't be long till tip-off. I think the Demons lack of height may be an issue in regards to their starting five. However, that might not be a huge problem considering how much y'all rotate players.

dont have a good feeling about this game..
