Personally, QB's don't complete 65+% of their passes (when throwing as much as he does)in the SEC. It doesn't matter how good your receivers are, defenses are going to make plays.

Interception Rate while in College:

Mett - 2.27
.
Manning - 2.39
.
Brees - 2.75
.
Luck - 2.07
.
Brady - 2.86
.
Wilson - 2.01
.
Stafford - 3.75
.
Ryan - 2.75

-------------------------------
LSU QB's

Jefferson - 2.95 (not very many passes and terrible YPA)
.
Lee - 3.72
.
Russel - 2.63
.
Flynn - 2.97
.
Mauck - 3.40
.
Davey - 3.14

Defenses are a tad bit better in the NFL than Ole Miss and Furman. Not flaming, just saying.

Those are their college stats....

LSU didn't have a very good running game his last season and he still didn't throw interceptions. Hell in 2005 he only threw 9 despite playing the last 8 games with torn ligaments and his throwing wrist.

He's another "Interception Machine" according to this website. Apparently the QB's who, according to the Rant, "lock onto their 1st option" throw way less interceptions.

IDK how many people are saying he's an int machine, but he has recently found a problem that he can't hide anymore. Teams are realizing that he is forcing way too many passes to OBJ and Landry and are keying on it. 3 against OM, 2 against Furman. He was extremely lucky that Bama players dropped three (they had a case of LSU-itis that game) ints. I don't get it, the TEs are opened and so are the RBs. He uses the RBs sometimes but I've seen Dickson streaking down the middle of the field wide open only to see Mett for another pass to OBJ.

OBJ and Landry are getting those balls. They are constantly climbing the ladder or snagging them away from potential disaster. I like that Mett is a gunslinger, freaking love it but Miles is not going to allow for constantly throwing the ball 30+ times a game. He's not going to go Shotgun four wide a lot. We are in bunch formation a shite ton and it makes it that much harder to get open with one or two WRs.

Would help the run game too if we spread em out.

Mett is a decent qb. But when that first option isnt there and he has to hold onto the ball or work the pocket,,,it will either be a sack or frickery.

I disagree with this. He puts the ball high when the defender is playing underneath usually. OBJ doesn't fight for the ball enough. He should have knocked 1 of the ints away at ole miss

crazy how it coincides with an injury? Those balls were all underthrown in the Ole Miss game. He played well in the 2nd half too.

* The 1st int should have been a TD and was the right read.

* The 2nd int was terrible from the play design all the way to the throw. He didn't even get a chance to look at the right side of the field due to the cross-body playaction. Double coverage and not even close.

* 3rd int should have been at least knocked down. 1-1 coverage over the top and he just underthrew it again. A good pass there is another TD.

True, but he was on his back the entire game and has a defense that can't stop anything. Internal pressure like Bama brought is always going to have plays like that. Also, weren't 2 of the 3 "near" INTs not going to Landry or OBJ

I'm not going to fault the guy who's thrown 0 interceptions against Bama in 2 years while completing almost 70% of his passes. He was the best player on the field

I think Miles has actually been abandoning J. Hill and the run way too much.

I agree. We did it a lot in the TCU game and it has disappeared

Interceptions are not the problem. Missing wide open tight ends because you locked onto a double covered recieved pre snap is however
