I have no doubt in my mind that if we win that game, that year would've ended with us winning our second super bowl ring.

Worst loss ever.

Yeah he was really put in a no-win situation. Maybe he could have handled it better, idk. But he did help us win a SB. Anyway, I will always continue to put the blame for that situation squarely where it belongs....

of course we would have won it all that year.

the giants were so happy not to have to go to new orleans after already being humiliated by new orleans earlier.

yep. agreed. very painful because we saw what slipped away. we were 9-0 in the dome that year. NFW the giants beat us in the dome for the NFCCG. and yes, we would have outscored the pats. Their D was nothing special that year if I recall correctly.

The loss to seattle the year before while it hurt, was nowhere near as bad becuase we were not beating the bears in soldier field anyway that year with all our injuries.

Obviously the 49ers won that game with their 4th quarter heroics against our shitty defense... but when Donte Whitner hit Pierre Thomas in the 1st quarter, it changed the game IMO. No doubt that it sent fear into our offense moving forward.

It was similar to when Reggie Bush taunted Urlacher in the NFC championship in 2006. That wheel route should have gave us the momentum for the comeback. Instead, it pissed off Chicago's defense and they tee'd off on us for the rest of game.

Morale of the story is... fear and anger can sometimes be the deciding factor between 2 evenly matched heavyweights. The dome will be rocking and revenge will be fresh on everyone's mind come Sunday.

Its time to bring the pain!!!!!!!!!!

Say what you will. But that was one of the best playoff games I've seen in years.
