Whatcha got? Going to be there this weekend and have some time to kill on Friday and Saturday during the day. Looks like Brick Store is the recommended place to go, but it's a few stops down the MARTA line. I'm not opposed to hoping on public transit and heading out, just wondering if there's anything decent downtown.

Downtown? I'm not sure what (if anything) is in the actual "downtown" area. I guess technically STATS and the beer garden next to it are downtown.

West midtown (very close to DT) is where you start to get better options, 5 seasons, Hopcity (growler, beer store), Ornsbys (better environment than beer).

Wrecking bar, The Porter, Brickstore are the best beer bars in the city but will require travelling.

If you want to meet up at some point just holla, I got a ton of beer at my disposal.

Hop City/5 Seasons sounds like your best bet, they are a 5min taxi ride from anywhere DT. Hop City may be the best beer store in Atlanta, they should have whtie chocolate moo hoo by this weekend.

YGM.

Thanks for the recs. I'll hit you up if I get some decent free time. Porter looks like a solid lineup.

If you have access to Marta, hop the train east and go to Decatur.

In addition to Brick Store there are several others.

Taco Mac only has fair food, but the draft beer selection is huge.

Decatur is way better than downtown and the ride out is not that far and not bad.
