Very hard to watch Bama and their bobble head strength coach and all their Pom poms and them hitting Mett like that the other night. This season may not be going the way most fans would have liked but no matter whatever happens, I will always love LSU football with all my heart. I will support the players and the coaches. And as players leave I will support and cheer for the new generation. And whatever happens to CLM, whether he leaves or is asked to leave I will support the next guy just as I've supported CLM. That's pretty much it. Haters flame away all you want but I will always be Forever L S U.

I agree with what you said, but did notice one thing that was missing....the possibility of Les staying...

We fought really hard and i'm proud of this team. You can't turn the ball over in games like that, ask aTm. Saban knows he got away with this one. Actually, Bama's run is over. Book it Vagitigers.

A fumble on the goal line and an early snap that gave them great field position. The game was still close in the 4th qtr.

Actually, Saban probably does feel like he dodged a bullet. Our coaches put together the only gameplan that could have won it for us, and we had our chance to steal a win Saturday.

Consider (after you get over the bitter disappointment of losing yet again):

We don't have the depth to go toe-to-toe with Bama all game long; and we saw that at the end. Yeah, fine, that's the breaks this year. We made it 3 quarters with what we had.
But Miles et al knew that going in. The ONLY way we negate their depth and get a W was to get up early and force them to not run the ball down our thin defense's throat. Well, guess what, our gameplan was effective.

We had the ball inside the 2 early and Copeland had a walk-in TD... and disaster strikes. Not coaching, not a blown call, just a fluke play disaster. And there's 7 points less on the board for us.

Our defense played strong early, and they weren't driving on us. Play field position with our offense moving the ball, and we keep them off the board for awhile. Again... disaster, the snap while Mett steps up to make an audible. Coaching? Well, maybe you don't try shotgun in that deafening a crowd, but again, that's not an idiotic coaching blunder. Maybe (no sarcasm intended) nobody associated with LSU could conceive that the crowd could be that raucous; it hasn't been here in Tiger Stadium, and it didn't cause troubles at Georgia. Either way, we gift Bama with 3 points at a stage of the game where they weren't going to score on us.

Those 2 blunders don't happen, and we control the first half. We might have a double digit lead at the break, instead of being down. If that's the case, Bama isn't in position to grind our defense into dust quite so early, because they can't go running the clock out with us having the lead. Sure, they still win the physical battle in the 2nd half and might still win, but at least we'd be in position to run a balanced offense long enough to MAYBE win the game. Beckham's return might then lead to a FG at least, which possibly could give us a lead to where Bama needs a TD. If that's the case late, you don't get all the Yeldon force-feeding and eventual domination we saw.

Bama's the better team, but we had our chance in the first half.

One more thing, our defense got the stop with the score tied at 17. If not for that converted fake we had the momentum. I was at the game and today I finally watched it on TV. IMO it wasn't as bad as some of y'all are making it.

ETA Good post Scoob

I knew this thread would show up at some point. Just thought it would be sooner.

You sound like a preteen Bieber fan proclaiming your love for all the world to see. You also sound incredibly dumb. Look, you can love something inferior all you want an it's still inferior. Trouble is you lose your objectivity because you are too emotionally attached to this team to ever criticize it or give it an honest analysis. Like the mother of kid who fails every class- you'll support it and love it no matter how big a loser it becomes; all the while enabling it to underachieve and keep failing. At some point you need to realize that loving a screw up doesn't make it any better or any less of a screw up. Maybe if you quit loving it and demanded a change things would improve

Honestly, knowing LSU doesn't have the best players (not on defense) after the first half I was thinking how could Alabama be ranked #1. The fact that Saban felt he needed to go for it on 4th down with the score tied says it all but the turnovers, penalties and inferior talent took their toll at the end.

Good for you....I love LSU football with all my heart as well and get tired of let down after let down. There's no excuse this season the performance we watch as fans. People talk about a young defense with no experience. They had the whole off season and 3/4 of a season so far. You're suppose to get better with each week. Not this year and it starts with coaching.

I can get on board with that. We expect greatness and it should at the very least be close.

That is the fighting spirit to have sir - with a less melancholy tone of course

It was a tough loss, but the future is brighter than ever for LSU. Bama is on a steep cliff - just remember that LSU fans. There is no decline for them; it will be a demoralizing collapse.
