Is it execution or scheme? Im just hoping its something that can be fixed or at the very least improve during the season

I vote scheme. Seems Ryan favors his backers and safeties getting upfield quickly into the backfield. If they get caught outside and the RB cuts back then there's nobody in the middle of the field to make the tackle.

I've noticed they have a tough time stretching plays out and then when the play is up the middle they get gashed.

I have to believe they can get better this season. I lean towards scheme as well

It's a little bit of both. Teams are not running against the D up the gut. They are spreading out and running off tackle. They are trying to neutralize Jordan, Hicks and Bunkley. It's hard for a MLB to get to the edge quickly and CB's are usually not the most efficient tacklers on any defense. With the Saints playing a lot of 4-3 it's making them susceptible to edge runs.

be happy this game. we are shutting out their pass which is more effective for them

Chris Carr and Corey White are playing huge for this secondary. I wish Carr wasn't cut before the Jets game. I know it's not the reason we lost but that guy seems to always play tight coverage and deflect passes every game

The key is to get ahead by 3 touchdowns

Execution last week for sure, go back and look at how many missed tackles there were.
