He said mediocre people don't like overachievers and overachievers don't like mediocre people. How do you think the Miami Dolphins organization/team/fans view Saban? He didn't honor his contractual commitment because he didn't know if he could be as successful as he wanted to be and wasn't willing to put the time in to see. They probably viewed him as less than mediocre for quitting.

Well said.

Why don't you take that shite somewhere else.

The circumstances were completely different. Saban lied to LSU when he left. He handled his departure very poorly.

Sure, because we all know Saban has never "been there" before.

His team kicked the shite out of LSU. He was excited. End of story.

1) Saban was Saban before he went to Bama. He did a lot for LSU, but LSU did a lot for him. He was never going to win a national championship at Michigan State.

2) If he goes to Auburn and wins national championships, let see if you sing the same tune.

3) You think you're mature by your comment, but you sound extremely naive.

I love how a well intentioned post with an introspective look at Saban's psyche that's outside of the worldview of the Rant turns into a 3 page 'why we hate Saban" (or not) thread.

I don't know why he did it, but there was a reason. It looked extremely contrived.

Everything Saban does is calculated. That reaction most definitely was.

He celebrated less after winning championships. I agree with the poster who started this thread. Saban knows that was the knockout blow to LSU.

I think it was all a calculated act in response to the recent Texas rumors. He can point to that post game "joy" as an example of him being "happy" where he is at

He did the same thing after winning his 2nd NC at Bama after he received criticism for looking miserable after winning his first.

if he left and ultimately landed at AU and built up a perennial shitty team/program to the point that they beat you 4 out of 6 times, you'd be a tad bit upset.

good thing is, when he leaves, bama will have to win again with bama players and order will be restored. just a matter of when he leaves. who knows.

Maybe so on the AU thing. That would be a beautiful sweet wife turning into a fat cheating biatch.

But even Saban is not bigger than Bama. We had Wallace Wade who started it all 100 years ago then Bryant. There will be another after Saban.

He was thanking AJ for helping him secure a $5million a year raise.

What more could feed an ego like Saban's than simultaneously building a championship program and then using it to destroy the one you built all at the same time? It's the ultimate power trip.

And the only way he can achieve an erection.

Bama fan,

Thanks for hijacking my thread. Now it's about Saban leaving Bama.

You're welcome. Hasn't it been about "when Saban leaves BAMA" for 7 years now. you guys kill me. You cry and moan about wanting respect but when someone feels a sense of accomplishment in beating you, you get offended. You should take it as a compliment that the man who is almost robotic shows some human emotion because he beat a tough opponent he respects. I don't think it was a weird reaction to the win. I think there are so few teams out there that he feels are capable of beating BAMA that he is not joyful when BAMA does beat the rest of them. That's why he coaches to beat par instead of the other team. It's a compliment that LSU is not just another nameless faceless opponent to him.

I didn't see the coach and his QB hug until this morning on the highlights. No matter how it's spun, it's odd. There is something unique going on there because This wasn't the natty or even the SEC championship. They beat the crap out of another team, the season isn't done and they acted as if there was something special to celebrate. I've never seen him do that before...even after a title.

No, as I said nimrod, the OP wasn't about that AT ALL.

That's not the reason for his joy. That was the point of my whole thread. He's beaten us many times and didn't even show that, but he's never destroyed us. Last night he did, that's why he's happy.

The knockout blow was 1/9/12.

Last night was a kick in the gut while we were down.

I like your way of counting, however it doesn't work that way at LSU.

I guess the subtle jab was over most of you guys head (2007 was with Saban's players).
