Kevin Martin left Oklahoma City for Minnesota in the offseason, where he could get more money (his deal was worth $28 million) and obviously more shots. After the Timberwolves reached 3-0 with a win over the Knicks, here’s what Martin told the media:

“This is such a fun team to play on. Nobody is trying to lead the league in scoring here. Everybody has the big picture of getting to the playoffs.”

The Big Lead

Maybe just a throwaway quote that people are overanalyzing? Or a legit shot at Durant/Westbrook?

this

KD probably takes the least amount of shots for a franchise player in the league. He is just very efficient.

Who cares. I'd give anything to have a competitor like Westbrook on my Magic.

The criticism of Westbrook blows my mind.

Gotta be about Westbrook if anything. No one would ever mistake Durant for selfish or "trying to lead the league in scoring". Dude is one of the most respected and revered stars the NBA has seen in a hot minute.

That said I think it is probably more of:

Same here I mean sure he is reckless but damn he can really play. He brings it every single game.

When Derrick Rose does it, he's a hero and the MVP. When Westbrook does it, he's a chucker who should pass more. Give me a break.

If Rose had a Durant on his team it would not be ok.

Durant shoots 17-19 times per game. He's not hurting for shots. Come with something better than that.

This doesn't really apply now. Rose's reputation has taken a major hit.

Rose doesn't have no one near the caliber of Durant on his team for him to be deferring to.
