Things I learned:
Blue October are very good live.
Chevelle is also very good live.
I don't know how I wasn't familiar with them before yesterday, but The Dirty Heads are awesome.
I wish I could tell you how 10 Years sounded....but the concession workers were insanely slow and incompetent.
Didn't head over to the side stage for Oleander.
New Politics' legacy will be the "Harlem" song.
...which brings me to Stone Temple Pilots w/Chester Bennington. They were visibly bothered by the fact that a large percentage of the crowd didn't stick around to see them. They played a sloppy and uninspired set....going through the motions. Those of us who stayed were punished with obscure deep cuts and a healthy dose of new material, intentionally skipping over big hits that many would likely want to hear. Since it was my first time seeing STP, it was a letdown.
I did enjoy some of the other acts (Mowglis, Dirty Heads, etc) that I didn't expect to.
Despite a poor side stage arrangement, the drunk annoying morons, and Chester's rustled jimmies, it was a half-decent show.
