I love bleu cheese. I love olives. I wanted to gag when they were mixed in my martini.

Gin is the only thing wrong with your title.

Big fan of the combo. Give Rain Vodka a try.

Then it would not be a martini.

Gin has one true purpose for its existence in the world. It is the cheapest form of mosquito repellant there is if you buy a handle of rot gut, not one will get near you after you spread it on your skin.

Take that remark up with James Bond and how he likes them prepared.

Yes it would be a martini. It would be called a vodka martini and James Bond enjoyed the hell out of them as do I.

For the record I enjoy a gin martini as well.

And a good glass of scotch.

And a good bottle of wine.

And a cold beer.

And Dr. Tishners

"A dry martini," [Bond] said. "One. In a deep champagne goblet."
"Oui, monsieur."

"Just a moment. Three measures of Gordon's, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it's ice-cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon peel. Got it?" "Certainly, monsieur." The barman seemed pleased with the idea. "Gosh, that's certainly a drink," said Leiter.

Rely on the fictional character bond, if you must, but he's drinking a vesper, not a martini. Social mores of the cocktail world MUST be obeyed or the world will descend into chaos. A martini is made with gin. Period. Call your vodka drinks and neon candy apple flavored drinks martinis if you must, but just realize that you're contributing to the downfall of western civilization in the process.

So what you are saying is that I should not invite you over for gin and tonic and pastalaya.

Mr Bond was not fictional at all in fact. He was the real life neighbor of the novelist who created the Bond novels. He was an ornithologist and the name was chosen out of the ease of making up the character. The success of the Bond novels was based in the fact that the author had himself been a spy behind enemy lines with the French underground as was(drum roll) Julia Child. Don't play trivial pursuit with me you might get cut a few times.

Now you're obfuscating. Basing a fictional character on one or more real life persons does not make the fictional character non-fictional. Go "shake" your "vodka martini" with the rest of the hoi polloi.
