even if it was an AR-15, that isn't an assault rifle because an assault rifle is select fire with a fully automatic option like an M-16. Not to mention that California has some of the toughest gun control laws in the entire country and the shooting was at an airport in a post 9/11 world where we are supposed to have all of this extra added security to make us all safer. 
I haven't heard anything about a description of the shooter which usually means that the shooter doesn't fit the gun control narrative.

On Fox News during the noon time they interviewed a "witness." His main observation was that TSA Officers were running away from the conflict just like he and everyone else was. He kept saying, "I thought TSA officers were armed. Why were they running away like everyone else?"

And so it begins. Now that this has effected several Hollywood celebrities and it happened in LAX I see celebrities getting behind the push for gun control.
