Lots of talk they are trying to add 4 more teams and get to 20. Chatter they are going after Kansas, OU, Texas to name 3.

No chance of that happening.

This is stupid

14 teams is barely feasible. For all intents and purposes it would just be two 10-team divisions that play round robin schedules and the winners playing each other in a championship game.

Would work for basketball

I can see them joining if they find a way to invalidate the grant-of-rights to the Big 12.

I can also see the rest of the Big 10 regretting that shortly afterward, given Texas' overblown ideas of its own importance.

I would agree but Texas would need to realize they wouldn't just be the "kings" of the conference. There has been talk that even though the B1G wants/wanted ND, OSU wasn't happy about it because they didn't want to "share" so to say. Could imagine the same thing happening here

as an OU fan i'd love this. historically great football teams and i'd love to be associated academically with the big 10 universities.

I don't know if Nebraska would hate this; get back their OU/Texas rivalries (OU especially), and the B1G shares money equally among all the teams. That was one of their big problems I thought, since Texas made more than everyone else

This was talked about before and there was more support from the Texas faithful than you'd think. I'm not saying it has legs but it's not something to simply dismiss. It would be great just to see how pissed off the Nebraskans would be if it happened.

Fail.

Big 12 has a Grant of Rights, Big 10 can't break that.

Oklahoma isn't AAU.

Baylor building a new stadium = Texas ain't leaving. Baylor would sue AND they would win. Texas knows this.

Not to mention the Big 10 sucks and why the frick would Texas or OU want to go there? OU can kiss there Texas recruiting pipeline goodbye in the Big 10 just like Nebraska did.

Big 10 has more irrelevant programs than any conference including the ACC. Indiana, Illinois, Purdue, Minnesota, Maryland, Rutgers, Iowa, and most years Northwestern.

Yes, they would. A big reason they left the Big 12 is that the Big 12 is mostly run by Texas.

Big 10 sucks but from top to bottom i would rather be in the big 10 than the big 12 if I were Texas and OU going there together.

not saying i agree that this is actually happening but a conference with all of them would not suck bra

The problem is Texas and OU cannot just leave their little brothers out to dry. State politics play a huge role in these decisions.

Something tells me the GOR has loopholes allowing Texas and OU to bail (but not anyone else). Once they jump, bye bye Big 12 and Kansas can join later.

Nebraska was voted in while two Big 10 members were undercutting its AAU status.

Watching Baylor's law school go against Texas' law school would be fun to see on whatever Court TV is now called.

OU is already having problems with recruiting thanks to A&M joining the SEC. (Baylor's recent success isn't helping their cause either.)

Yeah just googled. Just threatening to sue. Why do you think you have a case this time?
