Lady Tigers dominate exhibition....freshman Raigyne Moncrief is the TRUTH

95-24 win over Tennessee Temple.
Moncrief has 24 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 9 steals in 27 minutes. From what I have heard, and now seen with my own eyes, she is the next superstar female player at LSU

Is she the hot European one?

My 8th grade travel team could have beaten Tennessee Temple.
But good to know we have a new stud.

And is from Ft. Lauderdale.
So I don't think so.
BTW, Moncrief is an electrical engineering major

I've gotten the impression through press conferences and a intern trainer that the freshmen bunch is a very solid group. I hope so, because she hasn't signed anyone for this recruiting cycle and most of the top ranked recruits have already signed.
Not a flame. I hope she succeeds, but damn it's about time she lives up to her salary

I see Kenney didn't play, she can't be hurt already can she?

Your Q made me go find her photo...not hot, not European (from Ft Lauderdale)...sigh.
Who were you thinking of? I'm looking for group photo...
ETA: you must mean Anna Pederson from Denmark.

Had another concussion about 3 weeks ago in practice. Not as bad as the others...but still a concern. By all accounts she will be ready for the regular season.

Jeez. Is she gonna have to start playing with a foam helmet like that chick from Tulane(serious question)?

Yea, not surprised by Moncrief's performance. I said this at the end of last season and I'll say it again....................
With what the Lady Tigers have coming back on this team, plus the four new additions, they will challenge for the SEC championship and at least the NCAA elite eight this season. Book it.

they desperately need an elite 8 appearance. again, I'll say we pay her a nice penny to recruit top classes and no one responded to my comment about us signing no top recruits so far this season. Not saying the process is over, but it appears as if most of the highly ranked players have already signed

And I'm not TNTNT i know he's the ultimate pessimist mid-major poster, but Beth Torina has really shown her out on the recruiting trail

I don't know what day but the next signing class is next month, November. Sure you weren't looking at last years class with the Freshmen we have now? Or maybe the commitments before this next class?

For what we pay that coach, we better win the NC this year.

Why didnt Harden play? She is the new JUCO player

Harden missed last night for the proverbial "violation of team rules". Should be good for next game.

As far as recruiting, I don't see a problem with how she's done.
When she got here, Van had pretty much taken the program to the point where it was DIFFICULT to draw in the kind of recruits that a UConn or Tennessee draws. However, she's done a VERY good job bringing in some top talent. In her first class she had Sheila Boykin and Krystal Forthan (who eventually left the program). Both of whom were listed in the ESPN top 50. In the next class she brought in Danielle Ballard (25th ranked in the Nation), Kuaneshia Baker (Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year), and Derryal Youngblood (6'4" post player from New Orleans). In this class she brought in Raigyne Moncrief (18th ranked in the nation), DaShawn Harden (JUCO All American), and Jasmine Rhodes (ESPN 4-star player).
For a first three classes I think she's done a very good job of not only recruiting, but picking up a couple of players not ranked in the national rankings who are good players. As the team works its way back up to being a perennial SEC contender and final four contender, the recruiting will follow.
One thing I DO know is, with us having a preseason SEC player of the year candidate in the post, and the guards we have on the perimeter, this will be the best LSU team since the final four team in 2008............which won the SEC and made the final four. Mark that down.

Heard Hill looked good in her first game too. Was that the case for someone who went?
