Book it.
Win the home opener, cruise through and then beat Memphis, cruise again until San Antonio, then come back to reality.

Pretty favorable early schedule. Easily could be 12-3 heading into December.
Indiana W/L
Orlando W
Charlotte W
Phoenix W
Memphis W/L
Lakers W
Phoenix W
Lakers W
Utah W
Philly W
Utah W
Cleveland W
San Antonio W/L
Golden State W/L
Philly W

Says the guy who's been trolling the board the past two weeks.

8-7 to start the season with a new roster would be great. This team will improve over the season. If they can stay over .500 to start, they have a solid chance at the 7 or 8 seed. That's an excellent start to the season IMO. Of course I'd like better and I think the schedule allows for 10-5. I'm just trying not to get too over excited.

no that schedule is too fluffy to be happy with 8-7.

I expect a very hot start, as many of monty's teams have in the past. Teams don't start playing defense until January. Advantage Pelicans!

There are literally 10 games of those 15 against teams that are making it clear they don't want to win this year. I counted the 2 Lakers in that b/c if Kobe doesn't play they aren't worth a damn. The only games we should have any business losing is the Pacers, Grizz, Spurs, Warriors and maybe the Cavs, and if you plan on contending for a playoff spot, you're going to have to beat playoff teams from time to time.

8-7 would be a disappointment and show that we are still mediocre.
there isn't an easier 15 game stretch. if we can only be .500 against cupcakes, what happens the next 14 games when we play 10 playoff teams and 4 fringe playoff teams?
I would be happy with 7-7 in the next 14.
Knicks
Bulls
Mavs
Thunder
Pistons
Grizz
Nuggets
Warriors
Clippers
Blazers
Kings
Nuggets
Rockets
Blazers

i'll accept 9 wins minimum in the first 15.
10 or 11 being what i would expect if we plan on contending for a playoff spot.
12+ wins and the league is f'd for years to come.

The optimism is well appreciated.

Keep it coming.

I agree, 8-7 would be a solid start for them. Regardless of who you're playing, it's never easy to make a west coast trip. Plus they have four segababas in that stretch, two on the road. Tough task.
