Am I the only one hunting a this muggy Monday afternoon? Looking for big daddy.

S Caddo parish
74ish deg
Slight wind
30-06

Sitting on a pipeline where I can see 600 yds each way. What's the bullet drop on a 150 grain at 600 yds anyways? Ya know, just in case.

I'm not far from you, I think we had this conversation last year. The majority of our place was clear cut 2 months ago. I've killed a yote and a hog but haven't seen any deer. We've had 2 does killed so far. May be a crappy year for us. Weather sucks this evening.

Half of our 400 acres was cut this summer as well. Really sucks but we have no place to go for the whole family so we're sticking it out. We've killed a couple of smaller bucks.

I blanked our tonight.

Will be a hell of a thicket that will hold deer in no time. They cut a lot of ours as well but we have a good mix of big timber to hunt. Serious thickets now though. Great habitat for deer!

I went this morning. Saw a family of otters. They seemed to be abandoning the slough that's drying up and headed towards the river.

Saw two deer. One, a spike came in to corn and the other went in a thicket. The spike eventually went to the same thicket. Pretty sure they bedded down in it.

Skipped evening hunt. Building a porch at the camp and it was so hot I couldn't imagine making a hunt. Will try again in the morning
