Less than a week away. Most races seem pretty wide open.

They just had a horrible breakdown, though. Points Offthebench just went down in his work for the sprint. Didn't even try to get back up. Put down on the track. He was a nice horse.

I wonder if they are screwing with the track as much as they did last year to speed it up? Even the horses that based at Santa Anita hated what they did to it.

Anyway, whatcha got?

Not this year

He's only had 1 race back off a long layoff.

Damn, I hate to hear that. The depressing thing about horse racing.

I know

The dude has looked good this year, but I'm kinda hoping for macho man.

What about the dirt mile looking like a real race this year?!

A friend (and canadian's former boss) has taptowne in there. I'm rooting for him, but damn did the race come up tough!!

I'm strictly a numbers guy, so I won't have an opinion until Trackmaster's data comes out the day before the race. My GF rides hunter jumpers, and can usually look at the horses in the paddock and tell which one will win. It's like she's clairvoyant

She can tell who is sound or not

Where does she ride? If in the southern la area I may know her. Name of her horse?

She rides in Folsom, I don't want to give out too much information without her say-so.

I bet I know her

She showing this weekend? I'm too poor to do much of that. Plus, I'm rehabbing mine back from stifles...

Thoughts on adding princess to the distaff? Speed favoring goes in royal delta's favor, but beholder won't give her an easy lead.

No, she rarely competes, mostly rides for pleasure, although some of her friends are bigtime into showing.

I found a pretty good rundown here LINK

Well, I enjoy them all. I haven't really looked at the fields yet. The Marathon is meh for me and the Classic rarely does much for me. I love the sprints and all of the grass races.

Off subject, big g came back great from his vacation. Gonna give Delaunay all he can handle this year.

You saw what happened to points Offthebench?

Graydar out of the mile with a quarter crack. Guess they'll probably retire him since he's already been sold to stud.

I'm going to pick my spots this year since the races are so late due to being on the west coast.

In the Distaff, I can't pass up a Sylmar/Royal Delta exacta, at 9-5 and 8-5 ML.

In the Filly and Mare Turf, I'm ALL OVER Emolient with big race Mike at 12-1 ML. Saw her last race at Keeneland, she broke last but came roaring back to win. Very impressive.

In the Turf Sprint, I like Mizdirection at 4-1 ML. Jim Rome's horse on his home track should be tough.

Gotta take Trinniburg in the Sprint at 8-1 ML. Rajiv will get him out of the gate fast. Wire to wire.

In the Classic, I like Moreno to break quickly and try to wire it, but I think Will Take Charge will catch him at the wire. D. Wayne is having a real comeback year. WTC is a different animal than he was in the Triple Crown series.

I think Wise Dan will return to form in the Mile and prevail. I was at Keeneland when he got beat in the Shadwell, but I think that was a fluke. There was a huge storm right before the race. They took it off the turf. You could see standing water on the poly. Don't believe Dan liked that track.
