Remove party affiliation from ballots...

No more R/D/I on ballots. Would this make a difference. In addition, I believe it it is time for the tax payers to pick up tab for all national/congressional elections. Get enough signatures to get on ballot and everyone gets the same amount of money to campaign. I hate government interference as much as most but the way we are doing it is not working. Pretty radical i know, but something has to change. Maybe I just need more coffee.

I love the idea of eliminating individual and corporate campaign contributions. To the quid pro quo system we currently have is the root cause of the corruption in our political system.
Unfortunately this will never happen.

Can't do it without a court order. You can't even change the order of the candidates on the ballot. How do you expect reading-challenged voters to accurately vote if you start confusing them and the sample ballots the parties give out?

Put their picture by their name instead of a letter. Now that would be real fair and balanced.

I am sure this is sarcasm. Surely the, uhhhmmm, democrats can at least recognize the letters of the names the preachers/activist tell them to vote for.

I suggested the same thing about a year ago. I was called a racist and was asked why I hate poor people

I would say you are one year smarter than me. But that isn't saying much.

I was only mildly exagerating. Democrats have sued over both situations.

There was a particularly funny situation in Florida 2000 where the Dem party sued the Dem majority elections board because they had changed the order of the candidates on the official ballot. Why was that important, you may ask? Well, if you give wino a carton of smokes and a sample ballot telling him to circle these, you've just paid an non-functioning voter to vote for your opponent.

The bigger quid pro quo is the lucrative lobbying jobs they all get after they retire. Give a special interest a few million tax dollars and you have a job for life when you leave Congress.

But of course the legislative favors and the jobs have NOTHING to do with each other.
