Anyone cutting 2nd crop of rice yet in SWLA?

I haven't seen anyone yet and it looks like they are going to be cutting it close in regards to being ready for opening day.

2 weeks after is the norm


Not sure if my dad had yet. I think he has though

I still haven't seen anyone cutting. Gonna be close with cutting, rolling and flooding to get the ducks around.

I saw a farmer cutting his this weekend on the way out to the doc at the Maxi Pierce grocery in Intercoastal.

They have been cutting since the middle of the month. Just a few early fields though. Most will get started at the end of this week. The rice is ripening on a normal schedule.

cutting in st. landry and Evangeline parish right now.

note- never saw a top crop look so damn good in every field.

True, every head is loaded. Our farmer is saying they are 10 days behind this year.

yea we finished pretty late as well. damn good second crop it looks to be thoguh

If it wasn't for the rain would have been cutting today in Klondike. Should be done by the end of this week if the weather cooperates.
