What's with all the Saints fans rushing to tear down Brady after he has one bad half year?

Any great athlete pre-1980 in any sport would be a mediocre at best athlete in todays game.

The inverse is also true. The modern athlete is so ridiculously coddled, there is no way they could compete in the conditions 1960s/70s players did. The ABA, for example, had no direct flights to any of their games. So every player had to fly, coach, with at least one connector. And then play three games in four days to maximize revenues for weekend games. Those three games would all be in different cities, sometimes on opposite coasts.

And David Thompson could still walk on air.

Well, that would mean something if I said, "Manning wasn't great." But that's not what I said.

There's a difference between "execution" and everyone claiming it's Manning's mental acumen and games which make him great.

People have been spouting Manning is some genius at the line and running this complex offense. - It simply ISN'T TRUE.

People say Manning is a genius because he can diagnose exactly what the defenses scheme is, even if it's disguised, in less than 10 secs, then adjust accordingly. The complexity or lack therof of the offense isnt what makes Manning great. He recognizes a weakness and attacks it. QB's dont struggle with offensive schemes in the NFL. They struggle with what the defense is trying to do to them.

I think you misunderstood. I meant nothing, including how he went about it

Most QBs can with that offense...there are only a few reads.

The article doesn't even refute that. It states multiple times that part of why the limited plays were so successful was Manning's ability to read the defense and change the play. I think your personal bias issues are clouding your judgement here bro. And FWIW I don't remember many people claiming that the Colts were running some incredibly complex offense. I had heard the 15 play thing repeatedly though

Once again, it's not about the offense. Aren't the sharpest reader are we now?

1. Fantasy football is boring and by far the shittiest sport to play fantasy in.

2. The regular season in college basketball means shite, and isn't worth watching. See you in March.

Fantasy Football is just a way for nerds to get interested in the NFL. Real men bet on the games.

I don't think a playoff will solve anything.

I absolutely do not think college athletes should be paid anything (no clue if that is unpopular).

I think playoff basketball, specifically when it involves Lebron and/or Kobe is much more interesting than every other sports post season. I also laugh at ppl who hate on LBJ for the decision.

I don't think this is unpopular just an observation: the NFL would be largely uninteresting if you take away gambling and fantasy football.
